Group 5 before their final presentation on Indonesia.
Over the course of the camp, students work in groups toward a final presentation on the summer’s chosen Sustainable Development Goal. They research the goal’s addressed issue, impact, and policies in each group’s chosen country. On the closing afternoon, they present to the class— exercising English speaking, performance, and academic skills. Students collaborate with Team Leaders, Directors, or other student staff members to hone their grammar and pronunciation before presentations.
In addition to our Sustainable Development Goal; students engage in lessons and activities dedicated to improve English speaking, reading, and writing.
Whether by formally debating the importance of desertification versus forest preservation, writing comprehensive reflections on presented lessons, or reading classic American poems, Bei Da students are constantly working on improving their English skills. As an English-immersion camp, we pride ourselves on facilitating a variety of opportunities to cultivate language abilities. Our student staff members help to guide students in areas of struggle.
As part of our global awareness mission, we drive cross-cultural connections between Taiwan and the United States.

Cross-culture lessons directly compare facets of life in Taiwan and the US, from the differences between infrastructure to food. Students are introduced to American culture in writing and reading practice lessons, such as in articles on the entertaining history of Groundhog Day and artistic projects diving into timeless American fairytales.
Aside from academics, our students have time each day to enjoy outdoor activities!
